Supplying wireless calling systems in South Africa since 2012

BellMe

South African supplier since 2012

Respond faster. Care and serve better.

BellMe supplies wireless nurse call systems, elderly panic buttons and service calling systems across South Africa. The press of one waterproof button alerts the person who needs to respond — no wiring, no internet connection, no monthly contract.

  • Wireless alerts and no internet required

When someone needs help, they should not have to wait

In a care facility, private home or busy service environment, a missed call creates uncertainty for the person waiting and pressure for the person expected to respond.

BellMe gives the caller one clear action and gives staff or caregivers an immediate, identifiable alert. There is no app to open, internet connection to maintain or building-wide cabling to install.

One press. The right person is alerted.

A straightforward system designed around the moment help or service is needed.

What you can rely on

Practical benefits that make the system easier to install, operate and support.

No internet required

The system communicates over radio frequency at 433.92 MHz. An internet connection is only needed for the optional reporting software.

Fully wireless

Call buttons run on batteries, so there is no cabling to install. Display panels, LED lights and signal repeaters each need a power point — display panels and LED lights on a 12 V supply, the B-Q4 signal repeater on a 9V1A supply.

100% waterproof buttons

Call and cancel buttons can be used in showers, bathrooms and toilets, and can be mounted or worn on a lanyard.

Once-off purchase

BellMe products are bought outright. There are no rental contracts and there are no monthly fees.

Response tracking

The reporting software records when a button was pressed and how long staff took to respond, and exports to an Excel spreadsheet.

South African supply and support

BellMe has supplied wireless calling systems since 2012, with a reseller network across South Africa.

Your BellMe setup in three steps

  1. 01

Tell us where help is needed

Share the number of call points, the rooms or areas to cover and how your staff or caregivers work.

  2. 02

    Choose your configuration

BellMe helps you choose buttons and receivers and prepares a quotation. Where coverage needs checking, an on-site inspection and test confirms the repeater requirement.

  3. 03

    Put the system to work

Position the call points and receivers for your setting, and make sure the people responding know where each call comes from and how to clear it.

Issy Geshen Lamont Home for the Aged

“We'd like to thank BellMe for giving us this bell. It's going to help our residents prevent those incidents that happen while nurses can't see — the resident will press the bell then we'll see what's happening.”

Serene Park Retirement Centre

“When it rings you can see the letters very well, they are big and clear, and the sound is very clear. Even if you are far, you can hear it and it rings until you come and stop it and then you can go to the resident and help them.”

How a BellMe system works

The same four steps apply whether the system is in a hospital ward, a family home or a restaurant.

BellMe wireless calling products on a table: two LED display panels, a wristwatch receiver, waterproof call buttons, a pull-cord unit, a cancel button, an LED light and the W900 reporting software on a monitor
  1. 01

    A waterproof button

The patient, resident or guest has a call button that can be mounted on any flat surface or worn on a lanyard. It is 100% waterproof, so it can be used in a bathroom or shower.

  2. 02

    One press calls for help

The button has a soft press surface and is slightly indented to prevent accidental presses. It can be used with limited hand mobility.

  3. 03

    The alert arrives instantly

A nurse, caregiver or staff member is alerted by a wristwatch receiver, a display panel at the station, or an LED light that flashes and beeps continuously.

  4. 04

    The call is recorded

With the optional reporting software you can see when a button was pressed and how long the response took, and export the record to an Excel spreadsheet.

What the system does not do

Please read this before ordering, so the system matches what you need.

  • The system alerts a caregiver or staff member who is on site. It does not contact emergency services, a call centre or an armed response provider.
  • It does not detect falls automatically — the user must press the button.
  • It does not connect to a mobile phone or send SMS or app notifications.
  • It does not include two-way voice communication. There is no intercom.
  • The frequency is fixed at 433.92 MHz and cannot be changed.
  • BellMe equipment is not guaranteed to work with another manufacturer's nurse call products.

Common questions

Do I need internet to use the BellMe system?

No. The system does not require an internet connection to operate. You only need internet once, to download the reporting software; after that the connection is no longer needed.

How long does a call button battery last?

Each call button takes an A23 battery, the same type used in electronic gate remotes. Battery life is typically six months to two years, depending on use. Some clients have reported batteries lasting considerably longer even.

What warranty do BellMe products carry?

Single Key Call buttons carry 5 years while other Call buttons and panels, LED lights carry 2 years. Wristwatches and signal repeaters carry 1 year.

Is BellMe a rental or a once-off purchase?

All BellMe products are a once-off purchase. There are no rental contracts.
