About BellMe

BellMe has supplied wireless calling systems in South Africa since 2012, to hospitals, retirement homes, families and businesses. We sell one thing and we sell it properly: equipment that lets a person call for help, and reaches the person who has to respond.

BellMe wireless calling devices laid out on a table: wall-mounted call and SOS buttons, a pendant on a red lanyard, a wristwatch receiver, display panels and the W900 software on a monitor

What we do

Our systems are used in hospitals, retirement homes and care facilities; in private homes where an elderly or vulnerable person is cared for; and in restaurants, hotels, casinos, supermarkets, spas and offices where someone needs to call for service.

All of it is wireless, running on a 433.92 MHz radio frequency signal. It does not need an internet connection to operate, and it is a once-off purchase rather than a rental.

Manufacturing and supply

BellMe supplies wireless nurse call systems through a sole distributorship agreement with a wireless nurse call system manufacturer. BellMe's role is as the distributor, rather than the manufacturer of the equipment.

For customers in South Africa, we provide advice on the equipment needed, supply the calling system and offer after-sales support. Explore our product range or contact us to discuss your requirements.

What you get

No internet required

The system communicates over radio frequency at 433.92 MHz. An internet connection is only needed for the optional reporting software.

Fully wireless

Call buttons run on batteries, so there is no cabling to install. Display panels, LED lights and signal repeaters each need a power point — display panels and LED lights on a 12 V supply, the B-Q4 signal repeater on a 9V1A supply.

100% waterproof buttons

Call and cancel buttons can be used in showers, bathrooms and toilets, and can be mounted or worn on a lanyard.

Once-off purchase

BellMe products are bought outright. There are no rental contracts and there are no monthly fees.

Response tracking

The reporting software records when a button was pressed and how long staff took to respond, and exports to an Excel spreadsheet.

South African supply and support

BellMe has supplied wireless calling systems since 2012, with a reseller network across South Africa.

How we work

Issy Geshen Lamont Home for the Aged

“We'd like to thank BellMe for giving us this bell. It's going to help our residents prevent those incidents that happen while nurses can't see — the resident will press the bell then we'll see what's happening.”

“When it rings you can see the letters very well, they are big and clear, and the sound is very clear. Even if you are far, you can hear it and it rings until you come and stop it and then you can go to the resident and help them.”

Villa Sunfield

“It has saved a lot of lives. For every nursing home they should have this. It's definitely a life saver. They rely on this bell so much that they don't want to part with it.”

What the system does not do

Please read this before ordering, so the system matches what you need.

  • The system alerts a caregiver or staff member who is on site. It does not contact emergency services, a call centre or an armed response provider.
  • It does not detect falls automatically — the user must press the button.
  • It does not connect to a mobile phone or send SMS or app notifications.
  • It does not include two-way voice communication. There is no intercom.
  • The frequency is fixed at 433.92 MHz and cannot be changed.
  • BellMe equipment is not guaranteed to work with another manufacturer's nurse call products.
